Job Description:

The Budget & Operations Manager will work remotely from Nairobi and report to the Deputy Director of Business Operations, providing finance and administrative support to the Grant Operations and Analytics Team (GOAT) within the Technical Excellence (TE) department. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in budget management, nonprofit management, ledger management, expenses, and timekeeping.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide financial and budgetary support to Technical Excellence
  • Provide day-to-day operations support for GOAT
  • Coordinate bi-weekly meetings, create agendas, take notes, and prepare presenters
  • Maintain GOAT intranet site (RescueNet) and update organogram with staffing changes
  • Respond to requests for information from interdepartmental, Country Programs, and external sources
  • Review and maintain GOAT’s internal resources and documents
  • Facilitate and disseminate appropriate resources to Country Programs
  • Collaborate with other Technical Excellence units, Finance/Accounts Payable, Grants staff, and IRC offices as required
  • Provide operational support to GOAT management team
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, business administration, or a related field
  • 5+ years of relevant experience in budget management, nonprofit management, ledger management, expenses, and timekeeping
  • Knowledge of federal regulations and nonprofit accounting principles
  • Strong organizational, problem-solving, and communication skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and other accounting software
  • Ability to work remotely and independently
