About the Company:

The Kenya Animal Genetic Resources Centre (KAGRC), formerly known as Central Artificial Insemination Station (CAIS), was established with the objective of controlling venereal diseases and genetically improving exotic dairy cattle. Located 15 km from the City Centre, KAGRC plays a pivotal role in producing, preserving, and conserving animal genetic material to meet national and export demands.

Job Summary:

As an ICT Assistant at KAGRC, you will contribute to the technical aspects of information and communication technology, ensuring the integrity and efficiency of systems.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide advice on ICT hardware, software, network, and communication devices.
  • Participate in acceptance tests, supervision, and commissioning of ICT systems/equipment.
  • Offer support and guidance to ICT users on equipment and devices.
  • Implement programs for safeguarding data integrity.
  • Ensure system/application availability through technical support and upgrades.
  • Perform routine installation, configuration, servicing, repair, and maintenance of computer hardware and networks.
  • Prepare maintenance and repair reports on a regular basis.
  • Participate in committee meetings as required.

Required Education:

  • Diploma, Associate’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Information Communication Technology, or equivalent from a recognized institution.

Qualifications:

  • Four (4) years of relevant work experience.
  • Demonstrated results in work performance.
  • Fulfillment of Chapter Six requirements of the Constitution.
