About The Role:
The Director, Affiliate Marketing position at Ovative Group provides an exciting opportunity for an experienced professional to step into a leadership role at a rapidly growing company known for its high standards in talent, fun, and client success. Leading the Affiliate team, the ideal candidate will showcase exceptional client management, inspire team leadership, possess critical thinking skills, and demonstrate a sophisticated understanding of affiliate marketing and the digital landscape. This role is pivotal in advancing Ovative’s capabilities in measuring and optimizing media for true enterprise impact.
Responsibilities:
Team Leadership and Employee Development:
- Drive strategic channel capabilities forward, building channel differentiation and identifying growth opportunities.
- Nurturing culture and inspiring the team to reach individual and team goals, actively investing in their development.
- Lead team staffing strategy, recruit, train, and manage new Ovative team members.
- Partner effectively to bring channel capabilities and best practices to life as part of a broader integrated offering.
- Own team level oversight of financials, operations, and tech.
Strategy & Thought Leadership:
- Act as an expert advisor for program strategies, continually evolving Ovative’s approach to best practices.
- Lead forward-thinking strategies, identifying testing or roadmap opportunities to advance client program sophistication.
- Serve as a strategic voice in business development and pitch scenarios, demonstrating expertise and thought leadership.
- Lead strategic industry relationships, nurturing positive and forward-leaning partnerships.
Client Relationship Management:
- Own, manage, and grow the overall relationship and performance of some of Ovative Group’s largest clients.
- Collaborate effectively with senior client leaders on program strategy, identifying new ways to drive client business results.
- Effectively manage & grow client relationships, establishing trust and credibility.
- Effectively influence client stakeholders to evolve strategies and measurement approach to drive enterprise impact.
Team Operations:
- Ensure best-in-class practices and operations are adopted throughout the team.
- Ensure executional excellence, day-to-day management of programs, and core program operations are delivered at the highest quality.
- Advise your team on planning, execution, and results analysis.
- Partner internally with technical teams to develop or influence products for the affiliate channel.
- Lead the team toward scaled operations, anticipating proactive needs for a growing team.
- Partner effectively with internal teams to bring operational best practices to life.
Requirements For This Role:
- 12+ years of relevant experience within affiliate marketing.
- 5+ years of experience directly leading and coaching teams of 10+ people.
- Deep Affiliate Marketing expertise with subject matter expertise in platforms like CJ, Rakuten, and Impact Radius.
- Client expertise within the retail and e-comm business profiles.
- Proven track record of success driving strong positive results.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to tell a story and influence others.
- Ability and desire to leverage data and analytics to drive channel strategies.
- Passion for measurement and assessing how deeper insights tied to customer, incrementality, and influence affect channel impact.
Preferred Experience:
- Direct responsibility for enterprise-level marketing programs.
- Strong digital agency experience or digital lead on the client-side.
