Job Description:

The Education Technical Adviser will provide technical support, guidance, and build technical capacity to implement, measure, and continuously improve education programs in IRC country programs in East Africa. The ideal candidate will have mid-senior level experience and exceptional communication skills, as well as experience in IRC, Swahili, project delivery, system monitoring, and IRC.

Responsibilities:

  • Work with country program staff to design programs and projects, ensuring they align with IRC’s strategy 2020 and include interventions based on best available evidence.
  • Provide technical design support for proposals, including technical narrative writing and budget input.
  • Analyze data to inform periodic review and course correction, ensuring that IRC programs are based on evidence and are evidence-generating.
  • Conduct technical training and coaching for country program staff, including on outcomes, theories of change, evidence, and indicators.
  • Review and share program-specific tools, resources, and curricula to contextualize and adapt global and country-specific materials.
  • Support senior technical country program recruitment and capacity-building.

Requirements:

  • Mid-senior level experience in education technical advising, with exceptional communication skills.
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a relevant field, or equivalent experience.
  • Experience with IRC, Swahili, project delivery, system monitoring, and IRC.
  • Ability to travel frequently across the East African region.
