About the Role:

Heifer International is seeking a Global Internal Auditor to enhance and protect the organization’s value by providing risk-based and objective assurance, advice, and insight. The role will be accountable for conducting internal audit engagements, ranging from country office assessments and project audits to reviews of entity-wide functions or central services. Although Africa is area-based, this position may be called upon to provide internal audit services anywhere the organization operates.

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct internal audit engagements, including routine internal audits, advisory services, or investigations
  • Provide independent and objective assurance as to the adequacy and effectiveness of Heifer’s internal controls over key operational and financial activities, business processes, information systems, and reporting and donor compliance
  • Promote best practices in risk management, internal audit, and compliance assurance
  • Reinforce Heifer’s internal audit effectiveness through the application of core professional principles
  • Deliver and monitor high-quality work products with continuous improvement, effective communications, and proactive, future-focused recommendations
  • Conduct assessments at the program area, country, or engagement level
  • Identify opportunities for improvement and development of recommendations
  • Communicate results and recommendations to all levels of management, both verbally and in writing
