Position Summary:
As a Project Manager, Logistics, you will proactively plan, coordinate, and drive logistics activities for new ship start-ups, dry docks, and owner supplies deliveries. Independently perform and lead others, ensuring project scope, timelines, and budget goals are met. Be a pivotal part of the Logistics Project Team, accountable for delivering exceptional results.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities:
- Develop logistical plans for Dry-docks, New-builds, and Special projects, including timelines, schedules, and consolidation points of owner supplies.
- Act as the Supply Chain focal point on the pier for loading plans of owner supplies, tools, and materials onboard.
- Track and report progress of loading plans, identify and mitigate risks, escalate and resolve issues, and document changes.
- Direct planning meetings with shipyards, Marine Operational groups, and Supply Chain for seamless project coordination.
- Collaborate with internal and external constituents, resolving conflicting issues to meet common goals.
- Manage the receiving and releasing process of owner supplies at on-site new build warehouses.
- Develop and execute reverse Logistic strategies and coordinate the disposition of owner’s goods.
- Lead and mentor logistics and Supply Chain staff on complex projects and assignments.
- Oversee financial budgets ranging from Three Hundred Thousand to One Million dollars, depending on project size and scope.
- Ensure efficient utilization of staff and non-labor resources.
Qualifications, Knowledge And Skills:
- Bachelor’s Degree with a focus on International Business and Project Management or related field, or equivalent experience.
- 5-7 years of experience or a combination of education and experience.
- Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, and Power Point.
- Ability to travel internationally and domestically for extended periods.
- Extensive working knowledge of international and domestic transportation modes (ocean, truck, air).
- Expertise in export documentation practices, US Department of Transportation, IMO, International Import/Export, and Customs Regulations.
- Solid written and communication skills, with the ability to communicate at all levels of the organization.
- Excellent interpersonal skills to work in a multicultural environment with employees and management.
- Effective application of policies and practices in the Human Resources function, including staff supervision.
