Job Description:
NATO is launching the second cycle of the Young Professionals Programme (YPP) and is searching for a talented and ambitious individual to join their team as a YPP, Cyber Defence and Emerging Technologies Associate. This global three-year program offers the opportunity to experience the frontline of a political and military alliance and start a journey of personal and professional development in a diverse and inclusive work environment.
Your role:
As a YPP in the Cyber Defence and Emerging Technologies path, you will be assigned to three different NATO bodies over three years. In the first year, you will be assigned to Allied Command Transformation (ACT) – Innovation & Emerging Technologies – (Norfolk, United States of America). In the second year, you will work at NATO Communications and Information Agency (NCIA) – Cyber Defense – (Mons, Belgium), and in the third year, you will be assigned to Allied Command Operations (ACO) – SHAPE – Cyber Defense – (Mons, Belgium).
Responsibilities:
- Incorporate the various aspects of cyberspace situational awareness from all sources to create the theatre-wide cyberspace
- Analyze structured and unstructured data for development of operational and strategic reports to a wide audience and contribute to information and knowledge management in the broad topics of cyber defense and EDTs
- Support NATO’s efforts in systematically introducing innovation in defence planning and capability development processes and activities
- Contribute to the entire lifecycle of cyber defence capabilities development from definition of requirements, planning, delivery and retirement
- Stay abreast and up-to-date on the current cyber threats from internal and publicly available external sources and assess risk to NATO and its Member States
- Apply data and insights from operational incidents to strengthen existing as well as develop new cyber defence capabilities.
Requirements:
- National of a NATO member state
- Master’s degree
- At least one year of work experience
- Strong analytical skills
- Excellent communication skills
- Experience in Cyber Defense and Cyber Operations
